Safety first. When it is safe to do so, assess the damage and take pictures. Do not enter your home if you have standing water. Do not climb up on your roof.

Please make sure that your first call is to your insurance carrier, many of them have a preferred vendor list. Sadly, scams are rampant in Florida, especially after these storms. We strongly advise you DO NOT sign a contract with an outside vendor if your carrier has a preferred list, as this can hinder the claims process. We also recommend having a copy of your policy available if you are filing a claim. Your policy number is going to be fastest and easiest way to identify your account but if you do not have this then the policyholder name and property address will suffice.
